We stayed at Villa Acquabella for a week with a large group of family for my wedding. Lisa was wonderful! She met us right at the ferry dock to help with our luggage then took us to the villa for a tour. The view was breathtaking! Honeymoon beach was perfect for all the children. We even saw a bunch of sea turtles while snorkeling. The staff at Dinghys was so friendly and welcoming and the food and drinks were phenomenal. Water Island is a must see for everyone. Our entire group had an amazing time.
Our 2015 Christmas in a white castle on Water Island provided plenty of “white” that we hardly missed our Minnesota snow at all—from the white towels and bedding to the white sandy beach of Honeymoon Bay! Our entire family of 16, including: young grandchildren, teen cousins, adult siblings, spouses, and grandparents enjoyed our close to 2-week stay and all of the memories made. Activities together were plenty--patio card games, pool floating, sunbathing, beach relaxing, fishing, cooking fresh caught fish, Dinghy’s events, horseshoes with the locals, karaoke, snorkeling, swimming by sea turtles, hermit crabs, TV movies, Vikings football, ferry rides, touring Water Island on golf carts and touring St. Thomas with the $1 shuttle rides. The morning view of sailboats in blue water and the evening view of white twinkling St. Thomas lights were spectacular. And the short rain showers brought double rainbows. Crown Bay Marina on St. Thomas by the ferry has a really good ice cream shop, Tickles pub, souvenir shops, and groceries. (A tip to save grocery trips: We had planned some meals ahead and brought extra suitcases with items like: frozen meats, salami, cheese, trail mixes, and boxed wine.) The Gourmet grocery store by the ferry had anything else we needed. We did go through many tortilla wraps, bagels, and snack crackers. Dinners at Dinghy’s were delightful too, including the Lionfish and their French fries. Home away from home for the holiday was perfect. Thanks Lisa for offering such a great vacation palace on a fun little island!
Loved my family's stay at Lisa's house on Water Island in December. The views are phenomenal! Each story included an outdoor balcony looking out onto the water leading to St. Thomas. I loved the minimal, modern and clean look of the home. Lisa was a wonderful host and I was delighted to get to know her during our stay on Water Island.
I stayed here with my family for a week and I could not have asked for a better house to stay in! It is very modern and has an amazing view of St Thomas. The owner of the house, Lisa, was always available if we had any questions about the house. There is a beautiful pond in front that we loved to sit around and enjoy the sound of the fountain. We loved that the house came had a pool and came with the use of a golf cart. It made it much easier to get back an d forth from the beach and ferry dock. The owners restaurant is called Dinghys on the further side of the beach. That place is the coolest beach bar I have ever been to. I highly recommend staying at this house on water island because the location is perfect!
I have been to the island more than 10 times and so I think I have some experience in actually judging a stay on this fascinating island. First of all the island is wonderful. The staff is without doubt the most competent and professional I have ever met. You seem to really live outside the world, on another planet. You can completely detach yourself from everyday stressful everyday life and experience every moment of the day in a relaxing and carefree way. The villa offers large spaces and all possible and imaginable comforts. In the final analysis I believe that the experience is indispensable and that we absolutely must do it at least once in a lifetime, just as I think that this fantastic journey will always remain an indelible memory in my memory.
As a last minute holiday my friends and sisters decided to take a trip to the virgin islands and found the right villa on water island. We had never stayed in the islands before and some of us had been to the caribean on a cruise ship before. We were all surprised at the beauty of this small island and especially Honeymoon Beach. We spent most of our time on the free lounge chairs at Dinghy's beach bar and ate the delicious food. As for the villa, it has all of the amenities one can expect but even better. Lisa was a great hostess and very accommodating with our everything. We hope to return soon!
I travel from Italy with my family to met my friends and brother traveling from USA and Argentina for a beautiful vacation in Water island. The villa was full with everything we need and the owner was very personal with our group of friends and family. The beach was very beautiful and we enjoyed the Dinghys beach bar very much especially the delicious banana hammock frozen drinks. I recommend this villa for groups or families because there is space for everybody and excellent service. Quite place for relaxation and beach time. We visited other places in virgin islands but for us Water island is the best place.
I had a friend come down and spend a week with me on Water Island. We chose this listing based on the recommendation of locals. The 2 bedroom "cottage" was beautiful. Modern and spacious with plenty of room to spread out without feeling cramped. The infinity pool overlooking the water is spectacular. Relaxing in the pool at night watching the lights of St Thomas is a magical experience. I would recommend this property to anyone, whether a romantic getaway or a family vacation. The owners really know how to show you a great time and provide all the things you could need (golf cart to get around the island, boat rentals, snorkeling, paddle-boarding, etc ). Definitely will book again!
We chose this vacation rental because of its vast accommodations for our large family and for its interesting contemporary design, and well, for all of the amenities offered. Lisa took her time showing us around and made us feel at home. We picked Water Island not really knowing much about the island but Lisa had spent quite some time emailing me links and photos, so it seemed perfect for a large family. We wouldn't need to rent a big van or hire taxis as we would have in St Thomas or St John. The beach was amazing and calm and we mostly hung out on Honeymoon beach. But again, the spaces in the house were large and we were able to have a beautiful birthday party for our dad that we will never forget. Some relatives flew in for just a few days and stayed on St Thomas and ferried in for the day but we were never sort of any comforts for all of us in the big villa. We all want to come back for mom's 80th! Loved it!
This past July my father and uncles from Puerto Rico went over to Water Island for a family reunion and Christmas in July rally. Anyway, the villa they lined up in Water island, VI was really awesome! The pool is huge and we even had a gym and pool table. Loved the spread…we partied and ate well down at Dinghy’s beach bar most of the time since they had karaoke and live music almost every day, but we did enjoy some boating and some nights out in St Thomas. Glad we stayed in the villa instead of a hotel so we could all chill together by the pool etc. Can’t wait to do it again sometime soon. Thanks Lisa for an awesome house. I especially liked my studio cave apt that I had to myself, super chill!
I am gladly commenting on our amazing vacation on Water Island at Villa Acquabella. My sister and brother and I shared the villa with our families and it was great fun. The house is very well appointed and has all of the amenities promised in the listing. We did spend most of our days at the beach. Definitely, one of the highlights was the live music and food at Dinghy’s Beach Bar. We had a blast at the DJ party that had us all dancing and laughing. Yup, we will be back!
Just wanted to share my great time my buddies and I had at the villa thanks to Lisa and Giorgio for their awesome tricked out house. Felt like we were in an MTV movie! We met up with several of our old high school friends for our college grad reunion down in water island. It was a blast down at the beach drinking and eating at the beach bar L & G own. We went out sailing for a day, and boating on one of their boats, plus we paddleboarded and kayaked around honeymoon beach. I had a lot of fun and it goes down as one of those to remember. Glad they trusted a bunch of young dudes and girls with their luxury place.
Villa Acquabella is great for families with children - pool on site, laundry, wifi, large kitchen, golf cart, and very close to Honeymoon Beach and the ferry landing. We had some beautiful family dinners outside by the pool overlooking St. Thomas. We will be back next year!
Villa Acquabella was amazing, and perfect for our needs. We rented the whole property and were able to sleep 16 adults and 4 children with room to spare. Had we need to sleep more, we could have used couches. The property was gorgeous, the pictures really don't even do it justice. The golf carts were fun to drive around the island to snorkel at various beaches and visit the fort. Honeymoon beach was very close, and for non-beach bar meals we shopped at the Pueblo supermarket close to the ferry landing. The property had all the cooking stuff we could ever want. Really a great family vacation for less than hotels!!
It was quite by accident that we met Lisa and Georgio, and stayed in their beautiful home for two weeks. We had rented another island home that didn't work out, and they welcomed us into Villa Acquabella at a moments notice. Their home is very clean and well appointed. There are different levels and areas to accommodate small or large groups. The view is lovely. From the comfy furniture around the pool, we watched several cruise ships go in and out of St. Thomas. The location is super - walking distance to the ferry and to Honeymoon Beach. This was our first time to Water Island. We absolutely fell in love with the island and the people! We will be back!!.
