Kenneth Gonsalves Barreiro / I am a local Antiguan and a Tennis Instructor by profession. My family and I run and operate our local Airbnb. I enjoy sharing my country's culture, hence the reason I am a host. I get maximum satisfaction working in the hospitality industry and seeing my guests happy. I pleases me to know that my guests will walk away with long lasting memories.
The longer we were there, the more we hated to leave. The surroundings are quiet and breathtaking. Kenneth made us feel right at home. We loved having the option of preparing some meals in while other times eating out and immersing ourselves in the local culture. So much to do and so little time! We would love to return one day.
We loved Kenneth’s place. The porch was our favorite spot to hang out with its great furniture and wonderful valley view with the trees and gardens! Perfect, quiet , peaceful spot to come back to after a day at the beach. It was clean, comfortable, safe and had everything you need for an extended stay. Kenneth was a great communicator and quickly responded to any questions. So nice he greats you when you arrive to give you instructions about the place. Make sure to check out the amazing beaches nearby. Darkwood beach, Ffreys beach and Valley Church beach are close and tranquil. The Epicurean grocery store is an 8 minute drive….easy! The vegetation all around the property is gorgeous! We didn’t want to leave. We hope to stay again.
This was a wonderful place to stay. Close to beaches and restaurants. Kenneth was friendly and helpful and the check-in and check-out was easy. We were really pleased with how quiet the place was and the surroundings. Beautiful view. Everything was great!
Ken was extremely helpful and responsive with his replys. He kindly offered to pick us up from the airport (at a small fee) and was extremely cooperative when our flight was delayed. The accommodation is perfect and well priced considering what else is around. The location is just gorgeous. Very peaceful and seculed with amazing views, I would however recommend a car (which Ken can organise) if you wish to explore the island, although there is a bus stop just 5 mins or so walk away. Darkwood beach however is so gorgeous and had the clearest water we saw during our time in Antigua so if you want to relax you really don't have to go far! 100% would recommend and hope to return at some point.
I love the location of the house, it's just a few minutes walk to the beach. I enjoyed my stay. The accomodations were great.
We had a very good stay at Kenneth's Airbnb. The location is great for beautiful nearby beaches like Darkwood beach (5 minutes walk) and Turner beach (15 min walk). We even came back to Darkwood beach after switching airbnb, as the beach was so nice. Kenneth offered us a ride back to the city, and even returned a jacket that I forgot. All in all, would recommend if you are interested in staying close to nature and nice beaches, with a flexible and guest-friendly host.
